Ladies, its flip flop season around here and we need to pamper out feet a little before we step out in sandals.
I gave into the trend and got some of these:I have to say, start slow, but they really do stretch out the muscles of your feet. The package boasts they can prevent plantar fasciitis. I don't know that I'd go that far, but they have stretched my feet quite a bit. (Isn't the left over purple tinge from my broken ankle just wonderful? Yeah, I thought you'd agree.)
Another clever use for these? Paint your toes after you put them on, toes stay separated, plenty of time for the polish to dry. Perfect, yes?
My very good friend Lori recently took a trip to Japan and brought me these fantastic socks. (She taught me everything I know about Swedish massage and I can only hope to be the rock star massage therapist like she is one day.)Know what's so great about them? I wear flip flops almost all year long regardless of the temperature outside. Because of Lori, I now have socks to wear that will accommodate my flip flop wearing self. (No, I never refer to them as "dress flops.") (She probably got tired of hearing me complain about my feet being cold when it was 40 degrees and I was wearing flip flops.)
Cool side view:Thank you! Thank you! Thank you Lori! You have no idea how much I love these socks and I love you just for being you. You. Are. Awesome.

Hahaha, those socks are fantastic!
I'm apparently out of the loop...why would one want their feet stretched?
wow. Show what I know. I thought it was for painting your toe nails! hehe
I've really been wanting to try those feet stretching thingys. I have a lot of shoes that cram my toes all day long.
OMG those socks are awesome, right? When we were in Japan they were everywhere for the equivalent of $1 a pair, and we ONLY BOUGHT 2 PAIR! I am so mad, because they are labeled as athletic wear in the US, very hard to find, and usually cost $20-$30 a pair if we can find them at all! DOH! Moral of the story: get as many as you can when someone you know goes to Japan!
OMG. I must have those stretchy thingys! Because my cute shoes make my toes all pointy and mushed, and foot cramps- owie, and the things that I use to keep the piggies parted when I paint them? Horrible little foam things that kill ma feets and don't even keep that elusive baby toe in line...
You can keep the toe socks, though. They would make me crazy! :)
J has a good point. These tabi (Japanese socks) should make a great souvenir gift. I lived in Japan for 20 years and struggled over what made a good gift because most things "made in Japan" such as electronics are cheaper in the USA than in Japan. I finally settled on ceramic tableware and vases.
Jika-tabi are worn by construction workers to easily traverse scaffolding. They are so heavy duty you could wear your flip flops in the snow. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabi
I posted about my kind of sock love today too. lol.
That reminds me... I need to do my toes!
I wonder: are the yoga-toes (that's what the toe-separators have been called when I've seen them) any more beneficial than buying the similar product in the foot care aisle (the ones that you use to paint your toenails)? I would think they would do the same thing and maybe they would be cheaper. I was thinking of trying it because my toes have a tendency to squish on top of each other when I walk, and now that I'm walking 4.5-5 miles a few times a week, it's becoming important.
My boss just ordered those yoga toes thingys...
Should I get a pair too?
This is awesome! I've never seen them before. Thanks for posting!
The blue foot chiller thing, is it like an eye mask for your toes?
Finally back from just reading......love the nail colour. Socks are great. Even the purple tinge from recovering ankle is lovely.
I'm jealous that my feet are firmly covered in woolen socks and slippers as it is so cold here.
yep. Summer is upon us, and we're bringin out the flip=flops.
I just painted my toenails this weekend. I gave myself a B+ but I still need to get it professionally done. Love those socks!
So what exactly does that blue thing do for the toes/feet? And why do we want to build those muscles or separate the toes?
Cute socks!
Those socks rock! I'm a flip-flop lover too and those would cause quite a stir up north here.
